A Walk in Paris

by Wendy
It goes something like this.

Bonjour Paris! Time to explore the city. Maybe visit Notre Dame and walk along the Seine?

Where do you want to go for breakfast? This cafe looks nice.

This cafe is the best! I could stay here for hours. Should we have another coffee?

Is Notre Dame this way?

Look at the dresses in those store windows. Tres chic! Which one would you choose?

I don’t know – I think we going in the right direction. That building is stunning though. Wait, I have to try and get a photo of the light falling on this street.

I agree, that statue is interesting. Are you going to investigate the inscription?

That building is beautiful.

And that building is beautiful.

You’re right, that is a cute dog! And yeah, there are a lot of pigeons.

Sure, I’m always up for looking around a foreign grocery store. It’s fun to see what’s different, pick up a bottle of water. . . oh what a great Haribo gummy candy selection! I’m going to buy some – which do you want, MJ? Think J would like these as a souvenir?

Does MJ want to check out that playground over there?

It does look like an old gothic church dome…Saint-Eustache. Should we pop in? Look at this structure. The ceiling!

Are we going in circles? It’s possible. Should we grab the Metro?

There’s a cool market set up by that Metro entrance – want to take a quick walk through?

Ice cream break? Of course!

We should find a Metro map – ok, so we go here, then transfer here. Does that sound right to you?

The train looks crowded, but it’s just a couple stops.

Anyone see the exit to the street?

Here we are! We found it. Darn, there’s a line for Notre Dame – but it seems to move fast.

This is so gorgeous.

Want to check out the boat cruises next since we’re here at the Seine? This Batobus hop on-hop off sails past many sights and is leaving shortly, should we go for it? Good idea. Hop on!

This is pretty, and relaxing.

Are those houseboats? Cool. I love the bridges.

Is that really the time? What are you thinking for dinner?

We could hop off the stop before Louvre, see something new, maybe find a cafe and then walk back toward the Opera arrondissement?

The Place de la Concorde is striking.

Yeah, I don’t see many restaurants either. Is this the way toward the Louvre?

Oh there is the Tulieries. Here is the Rue du Rivoli arcades with all the souvenir stores. They go on, and on, and on.

Yeah right! Wonder how many miles we’ve walked today?

That place looks kinda fancy, and that one looks too touristy. May as well keep walking?

There’s the Opera house! I agree – this cafe looks good, and they have pizza. Shall we eat before we collapse? I would love a glass of wine.

It stays so light here in June, you don’t realize how late it is. Ready to stroll back to the hotel?

You’re right, there is the Effiel Tower over that way! Of course we have to see it lit up. Good call! Incredible!

Bonne Nuit, Paris – merci.
